Rust College’s Lauren Bennett Named HBCUAC Newcomer of the Week

Rust College’s Lauren Bennett Named HBCUAC Newcomer of the Week

Bennett earned the weekly honor after delivering a dominant all-around performance in Rust's matchup against Stillman College, where she posted 30 points, 16 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Her production on both ends of the floor helped fuel the Bearcats' success and highlighted her continued impact throughout the season.

This recognition marks Bennett's second Player of the Week award of the season, further cementing her as one of the top newcomers in the HBCUAC and a key piece of Rust's roster.
Bennett's award also continues the momentum for Rust College Women's Basketball, as it marks the second consecutive week that a Bearcats player has earned a conference weekly honor.

"Lauren has been consistent all season and continues to elevate her game when we need her most," said Head Coach Jaleesa Sams. "Her effort, toughness, and ability to impact the game on both ends is what makes her special. We're proud of her and excited to see her continue to grow."

Rust College Women's Basketball continues its push through conference play with strong momentum and standout performances from across the roster.
