Rust College Men’s Tennis Opens 2026 Season Under Coach Venecca Green, Welcomes Fans to Brand New Home Courts

This season also marks a major milestone for Rust College Athletics, as the Bearcats will compete on newly resurfaced tennis courts. With a fresh home venue and an exciting schedule ahead, Rust College encourages fans, students, and the local community to attend home matches and support the program throughout the spring.

One of the key returning leaders for Rust this season is team captain Auguste Zachary, who helped guide the Bearcats through a season that featured historic rivalry success and postseason experience. Zachary's consistency and leadership will be central as the Bearcats look to take another step forward in 2026.

"Our program is continuing to grow, and I'm excited for our student-athletes to compete this year," said Coach Venecca Green. "We're proud of the progress we made last season, and having brand new courts gives us even more reason to bring energy to our home matches. We want our community to come out and be part of what we're building."

Rust College will host its first home match of the season on Thursday, March 6, when the Bearcats take on Mississippi University for Women in Holly Springs. The matchup is expected to be a strong early-season test and an opportunity for Rust to set the tone on its home courts.

With new facilities, returning leadership, and a renewed focus on competing at a high level, Rust College Men's Tennis enters the 2026 season with momentum and purpose.
