Rust College Women’s Basketball Unveils 2025-26 Season Schedule
The Bearcats, led by head coach Jaleesa Sams, look to build on last season's success where they finished third in the HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) East Division standings before falling in the second round of the conference tournament. With key returners and a promising group of newcomers, Rust is focused on taking the next step forward this season.
The season tips off at home on October 27 against Arkansas Baptist College at 5 p.m. The opener will feature a Pink Out Night, with the first 100 fans receiving a free pink Rust College T-shirt in support of breast cancer awareness.
Key Returners
Rust returns several standout performers, including Patsy Johnson, who finished top five in the conference in scoring and top 10 in three-point percentage last season. Alongside her is Michaela Payton, who ranked top five in field goal percentage and top 10 in rebounds, bringing consistency and dominance in the paint. Together, they provide a veteran foundation for a roster that also features a strong group of new recruits eager to contribute immediately and help sustain the winning culture of Rust College Women's Basketball.
